Understanding Your Breath for Nervous System Regulation – 2-Hour Masterclass

Join Kate for the first in a monthly series of masterclasses designed to deepen both your intellectual and embodied understanding of breathwork and yoga practices. This session focuses on the power of the breath — an incredible tool that can regulate the nervous system, support digestion, tone the vagus nerve, calm the mind or boost energy. You’ll explore the science and physiology behind breathing techniques commonly taught in classes, learning how they work and which practices to use for different outcomes.

Stress, trauma and modern busy lifestyles often create shallow, upper-chest breathing patterns that signal danger to the brain, triggering tension, poor sleep, digestive issues and anxiety. In this workshop, you’ll explore your own breathing patterns and learn how to develop a more supportive, efficient breath to help shift your body toward safety and wellbeing. Wear warm, comfortable clothing, as we’ll move between standing, seated and lying positions. Please let us know in advance if you need to use a chair.
