We always have a trained open water lifeguard on duty during our wild swimming sessions. The lifeguard is also be trained in first aid and safety procedures.

How deep is the lake?

The lake is various depths. At it's deepest, it’s between 1.8 metres and 2 metres. The shoreline naturally slopes off from the beachside area, providing an easy and accessible entry point.

Do I need to bring my own two float?

We have some tow floats available to borrow if you don’t have your own.

Do you have changing facilites?

We do not have changing facilities at the moment, but they are coming soon. Many swimmers opt to change underneath their dry robe, or you can change in the Tipi if its available.

What if the weather is bad?

We will still run wild swimming sessions in the rain, however for safety reasons the session might be cancelled during adverse weather conditions like thunderstorms and gale force winds.

Are there toilets at the lake?

We have one portaloo at the lake. The nearest other toilets are in Bean Theory, our on-site coffee shop (approx. 10 minute walk up the hill)

What should I wear for wild swimming?

Everyone is different, so please feel free to wear what feels comfortable for you, be it a swimsuit or wetsuit. Water shoes or socks can be helpful on the lake floor. Please also bring a towel and warm clothes.

Do I need to be an experienced swimmer?

We recommend that participants have basic swimming skills. Always ensure you're comfortable in the water, and if in doubt, stay close to the shore or use a flotation device. The lake has some shallow and deeper areas, please ask the lifeguard for advice if unsure.

Dogs are not allowed at the lake. We kindly request that you refrain from bringing your dog with you.
