We begin our creative adventure in the coffee shop with a drink and biscuit, giving everyone time to settle before setting off on a gentle walk through the gardens. Along the way, children will collect fallen petals, leaves and other natural treasures to inspire their clay creations.
Back in our workshop space, children will spend time shaping and moulding clay to create either a tiny moss pot or a collection of little flower heads. With plenty of guidance and encouragement, they will explore squeezing, rolling, hollowing and decorating their pieces, discovering how something simple can be transformed in their hands.
We will finish gathered around the fire, where children can share their creations with parents and carers in a warm and celebratory circle. All pieces will then be carefully fired and returned to Waresley for collection - ready to hold moss, a small plant, or simply to be treasured as a reminder of a special creative day.
Suitable for children aged 5–13 years.
